Peter Paleologos is on the Editorial Board of Football Legal, the world-renowned football law journal, where he has written over 35 legal articles focusing on professional football in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Peter has also been appointed as a FIFA pro bono counsel, where he can provide legal aid services for individuals who appear before FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee, FIFA Appeals Committee and the FIFA Ethics Committee to defend themselves at these judicial proceedings.

Peter has leading experience and expertise in the following football legal matters:

  • negotiating employment contracts/terms for professional players
  • drafting player agent/football intermediary agreements for other football player agents
  • developing a best practice checklist for Australian football coaches
  • providing advice on disputes at the FIFA Player Status Committee, FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber and Court of Arbitration of Sport (Football only)
  • drafting and negotiating Player Transfer Agreements, Sell-on Clauses, Player Loan agreements, Buy-out Clauses, Sign on Fees, Appearance/Match fees, Player Bonuses and Release Clauses on behalf of players and/or other football player agents
  • providing players with templates to seek a club training compensation waiver
  • the only Australian football lawyer to advise on and successfully get several Australian players out of their unfair contract with other football player agents
